Why should you register?

Children grow in relationships. Safety grows in connection. Resilience grows when people stand in their accountability and share responsibility together around children and their parents in challenging situations.

Becoming the connection means learning how to bring families, networks, and professionals together so that children and parents can experience safety, belonging, and hope. This training week invites practitioners to deepen their ability to bring people together around children and families, strengthen relationships, and share responsibility for safety, belonging and resilience.

Rooted in the 360° Partnership approach, this work grows from lived practice and from more than 1,800 network meetings facilitated with families and professionals over the past years. Participants will learn practical tools, language, and reflections that can be applied immediately in real conversations and real situations.

How is the practical application of the training content supported?

Participants receive the workbook Becoming the Connection, written by Sabien De Klerck and Mike Caslor as well as a set of Connection Cards. The practical workbook is an invitation to support professionals, caregivers, children and their networks in strengthening connection, shared responsibility, and meaningful collaboration around children. It’s a book that is worked in and used within the day to day work.  The reusable dry erase set of Connection Cards brings the content of the book alive in every conversation, around kitchen tables, and in different network meetings.

The workbook and cards will be used during the training week and afterwards as a practice companion in daily work. The book and cards are included in the training fee.

Follow-up online coaching sessions as well as 2 in-person days will bring focus to learning and impact; each session is designed to help the learning take root and grow.

Growing your own practice. Strengthen your personal compass in working alongside families and networks and grow your confidence in facilitating network meetings and collaborative conversations.

Growing 360° Partnership. Learn how to bring families, natural networks, and professionals together around:

• Resilience Plans

Participants explore how to work with people rather than around them, strengthening shared responsibility and accountability.

Seeing the impact of your work. Develop ways to make the impact of your work visible through:

• Drawings of Impact

• Data of Impacct

• Stories of Impact

Not as an evaluation, but as an invitation for cocreating answers and learning and un-learning together. Together we learn how to listen to the voices of children, parents, and networks, and how their feedback received in different ways about WHY we do what we do and the Impact it really makes, strengthens professional practice.
